Lavetta GordenRobinson, 86, Rockford, died peacefully in her home after a brief illness on Friday, December 28, 2012.nbsp; Born September 6, 1926 in Union County, Arkansas daughter of Lavonia Ford and Curtis Levi Gorden.nbsp;The oldest member of her family. She was looked to for leadership of the family. She counseled many and opened her home freely welcoming whoever needed a place to stay. She was known by many names but the one name most would agree on would simply be Mama.nbsp;nbsp;

Survivors include her children; Juanita Craig, Hardin (Evoin) Robinson, Jr., Benny (Zinnia) Gorden, Alonzo Gorden, Linda Marie (Calvin) Awkward and Penelope (Marvin) Bruce: A host of nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends. Predeceased by her husband, Hardin Robinson; sons, Pecolia Gorden, Charles Robinson, James Robinson, Johnnie Robinson, Cleveland Robinson and her daughter, Annie Yvonne Day.

Burial in Willwood Cemetery.
