Lauretta Soberg-Stofferahn, 89 of Rockford, IL passed away Monday, October 5, 2020. She was born June 8, 1931 in Elgin, IL. Lauretta lived most of her life in the Crystal Lake area and later moved to Rockford. She married Marvin Soberg and they had three sons. After Marvin’s death in 1994, Lauretta then married Wayne Stofferahn until he passed in 2009. She worked many years in manufacturing and continued to clean houses up until this past year. Lauretta was a very active member of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church. As a lover of nature, she was part of a local hiking group and loved gardening. Lauretta loved her family and spending time with all of them. One thing her family will miss most is her famous 101 casserole concoctions that she would make for them.
Survived by her sons, Allan Soberg and Brian (Kathy) Soberg; daughter-in-law, Jeanne Soberg; grandchildren, Jason, Katie, and Ashley; great grandchildren, Aniesa, Braxton, Aiden, and Olivia; brother-in-law, Tony Payne; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by her parents; son, Donald Soberg; first husband Marvin and second husband Wayne; brother, David (Sandy) Simon; and sisters, Lynn (John) Bossow and Yvonne Payne.
