Larry L. Cottrell

Larry Lee Cottrell, 79, of Rockford, IL, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, February 8, 2021.

Larry was born on January 31, 1942 in Diagonal, Iowa, son of Cecil and Mary (Brown) Cottrell. He graduated from East High School, Class of 1959. Larry married Sharon Malm on September 29, 1962. He owned and operated Co-Lin Metals for 55 years before retiring. Larry did a lot of metal work for local businesses in the Rockford area. Larry enjoyed spending time with his family at their property on Pleasant Lake in Wisconsin. He loved to do anything involving the outdoors. Larry enjoyed boating in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter. He was a proud member of the Coloma Pathfinders Snowmobiling Club in Coloma, WI. Larry was always there to help others in a time of need. He will be dearly missed by everyone that knew him.

Surviving relatives include his wife of 58 years, Sharon Cottrell; children, Carrie (Todd) Glendenning, Tracy (Lenny) Lueck and Kevin (Mandi) Cottrell; grandchildren, Sierra, Jenna, Ashley, Briana, Bryn and Kalen; siblings, Kaye, Shirley, Marla and Dean; numerous nieces and nephews. Larry is predeceased by his parents.
