Larry C. Zingler

Larry C. Zingler, 78, Rockford, died Monday, August 19, 2013 in Swedish American Hospital. Born April 18, 1935 in Neenah, WI, son of Clifford F. and Henrietta Kraus Zingler. Veteran of the U. S. Army. Married Janice M. Halloin on September 19, 1956 and has been a Rockford resident since 1968. Larry a board member of USA Dance, member of Northern Illinois Fiero Enthusiasts was proud of his 35 year employment as a mechanical engineer with Sundstrand Corp. He loved his job and the people he worked with. He had been (NIFE) and was a Mended Hearts Visitor and Volunteer at Swedish American Hospital. He was a real movie buff, especially enjoying action movies. All types of car races were an enjoyment also. Larry never met a stranger and people thoroughly enjoyed his sense of humor. He was a gentleman who was well liked and respected by all. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who was always available for his families needs. Survivors include his wife, Janice; daughters, Beth Ann (Frank, Jr.) Locascio, Pekin and Wendy K. Orris (Tod Clarey) Rockton; grandchildren, Casandra, Cathleen, Courtney, Jordan, Kiley, Hannah, Mikaela and Jonah; great-grandchildren, Chase, Kaiden and Lauren; sister, Connie Bellin, and nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents. The Zingler family would like to thank the wonderful staff of the Swedish American Heart Hospital for the exceptional care that was given to Larry.

Funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, August 24, 2013 in the chapel of First Evangelical Free Church with Rev. Bertie Holmgren officiating. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation from 9:30 a.m until 11:15 a.m. at the church on Saturday. Arrangements were completed by Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd.
