Kurt Lange, 71, of Cherry Valley, lost his long battle with Parkinson’s Disease on Thursday, April 20, 2017. Born in Germany on March 7, 1946, the son of Johann and Elsa Lange. Kurt was a veteran serving in the United States Army. He worked as a precision machinist for over 40 years. He leaves in life his best friend, wife and true love, Barb; they were married on March 16, 1968 in Louisville, Kentucky. His two grown children, Lisa Marie Lange and Marc Scott Lange. He also leaves in life, two sisters, Edith, Irma and brother, Johan. He was preceded in death by his parents and 5 siblings, Helmut, Willy, Heinz, Erwin and Erika. Kurt was a kind, gentle, loving and generous man. Kurt had a great love for the outdoors, and now he is free to do all the things the disease stole from him. He was loved and will be missed.
Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Calvary Christian Church, 5455 Charles St, Rockford. Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 25 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the church and will continue on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Team Fox for Parkinson's Research at fundraise.michaeljfox.org/lisamarielange or through a donation to the family. Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, assisted the family.
