Kodkeo Phasouk, 70, of Rockford, passed away Monday, November 11, 2024, surrounded by family. Born on February 14th of 1954 in Muang Sing, Laos, to Laopheung and Pao Phasouk. He married Nouane Monmany in Nam Keung, Laos on May 18, 1974, and they soon after moved to the Rockford area; being the first refugee family to settle here in 1976. He was well-known for helping the Lao-American community and assisted in founding the Ratanaram Buddhist Temple.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nouane; sons, Rod Phasouk, Ryan (Angie) Phasouk; grandchildren, Parker and Emme; siblings, Hom Sisavathay, Foung Oulavong, Pheng Rattanary, Ay Norasingh, Sengla Vanmanivong, Sai Saechao, and Kanngeuane Phasouk. Kodkeo is predeceased by his parents.
A Traditional Laos Service will be on Sunday, November 17, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. through 3:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, IL 61108.
