Kimberly E. Bridge

Kimberly E. Bridge, 60, of Rockford, IL, died December 22, 2020 at Swedish American Hospital after a short illness. She was born on November 15, 1960 to George H. and Lois (Pohl) Bridge.

After graduating 8th grade at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church School, she moved with her family to Thousand Oaks, CA, graduating from Thousand Oaks High School. She had a desire to experience new places and new things. This brought her to live in Burlington, Vermont. While in Vermont, she worked for the police department as a dispatcher and also graduated from the New England Culinary Institute. Kimberly always had an interest in food and its preparation, and her next move was Seattle, Washington, where she worked as a Sous Chef at the Washington State Convention Center. In 2006, Kimberly returned to Rockford. Although her immediate family was small, she enjoyed the closeness of a very large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. She worked for Todd Transit for 14 years, and will be missed by all who knew her.

Kimberly is survived by her mother, Lois and several cousins. She was predeceased by her father, George; brother, Galen; grandparents and several aunts and uncles. Cremation will take place at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, and plans for a memorial service are pending for a later date.
