Loving Wife, Mother, Mamok, Daughter, Sister
Kimberly Ann Carpenter, 50, of Rockford, died unexpectedly on Thursday, November 5, 2015. She was born in Freeport on November 26, 1964; to parents, Gary and Shirley (Stone) Diehl. Kim married her loving husband, Steve Carpenter on October 14, 1984 in Tennesee. She was employed at Chase Bank in Elgin and really enjoyed her work. Kim was a strong, independent, compassionate woman, who put others first. She had a sharp wit and an opinion about most things, and she wasn’t afraid to “tell you how it is”. Kim had a heart bigger than most and her loving family will miss her dearly.
Kim is survived by her husband, Steve Carpenter; children, Keeley (Ryan) Capriola, Shane Carpenter; parents, Gary and Shirley Diehl; granddaughter, Ava Capriola; brothers, Scott (Marjorie) Diehl and Eric (Shannon) Diehl; aunt and uncle, Jack and Mary Faull; cousin, Suzie (Steve) Spencer; nephews, Josh, Jacob, and Jordan Diehl.
Kim is predeceased by her grandparents, Jessie and Donald Stone, and Darlene and Floyd Diehl.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, November 14, 2015; at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL, 61108. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until time of service on Saturday. Memorial donations may be given to the Carpenter Family to be determined at a later time.
