Kenneth Wayne Quittschreiber 73 of Rockford, passed away on September 19, 2010 in his home. He was born June 28, 1936 in Arthur, ND; son of Edward and Helen Quittschreiber. He married Donna J. Thorell on February 20, 1960 in Rockford, she predeceased Kenneth in 2006. He graduated from Lena High School in 1955, and was a proud member of the United States Marine Corp reaching the rank of Sergeant. He owned Superior Maintenance Corporation for many years, retiring in 2010. Member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. Kenneth was a caring husband, father and mentor to many. Survivors include his children, Paul (Elizabeth) Quittschreiber of Chicago, Bradley J. Schreiber of Rockford and Dawn Quittschreiber of Milwaukee; brother, Robert (Pat) Quittschreiber; sisters, Marilyn (Richard) Hartman and Jane Lindeman all of Freeport; Survivors also include his special dog and companion, Bodhi. Predeceased by his parents and sisters,Evelyn Coad and Marvel Martin. Kenneth was a caring and loving husband for 46 years and a very devoted father to all three of his children. He was a mentor and a role model to many. He was also an avid fisherman as well as an outdoor enthusiast. The family would like to extend there deep appreciation to his many friends and business colleagues throughout the years.Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, September 23, 2010 in St Mark Lutheran Church. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. Visitation from 5pm until 8pm Wednesday September 22 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road, visitation also on Thursday from 10am until time of service in the church.
