Kenneth M. Hutsell

Kenneth “Kenny” Michael Hutsell, 50, of Chesterfield, Virginia, formerly of Rockford, passed away on November 5, 2024. He was born on October 29, 1974, in Rockford, the son of Andrew W. Hutsell and Jonie L. (Martin) Dorris. Kenny enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1993, with training at MCRD in San Diego. He was honorably discharged in 1997, after serving overseas in multiple locations and ranking as a Lance Corporal. Kenny was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. He enjoyed trap shooting and fishing. Kenny was a caring, sometimes hardheaded, loving, and funny son, brother, grandson, uncle, and friend. 

He is survived by his father, Andrew “Andy” (Sue) Hutsell; maternal grandmother, Verda Martin; siblings, Dennis (Lisa) Higgins, Rebecca (Larry) Guardia, and Michael (Tommie) Steiniger; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is predeceased by his mom, Jonie Dorris; brother, Andrew Hutsell Jr., stepsister, Rhonda Burkett; paternal grandparents, Walter and Beatrice Hutsell; and maternal grandfather, Kenneth Martin. 

The family would like to give a special thank you to the doctors at Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center of Midlothian, Virginia. 

A Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 3910 N. Rockton Avenue, Rockford, IL 61103. A one-hour visitation will be prior to the service starting at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Willwood Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
