Kenneth E. Hibbs

    Kenneth E. Hibbs 65 of Rockford, passed away at 3:24pm Wednesday, September 9, 2009 in his home surrounded by his Family after a courageous battle with cancer.He was born, October 8, 1943 in Moorehead, KS, son of William "Wiley"and Edna Hibbs.   He married Diane Nygren on November 3rd 1962 in St Mary Church Rockford.He retired from Anderson Underground in 2005, but worked for many companies as a member of Local 150 Operating Engineers.  He was a member of Venetian Club and FOE Eagles club.  Ken loved and enjoyed his grandchildren, especially taking them fishing to Four Lakes.  He also loved his fishing trips to Canada with his Brother-in-law Dave and his friends.  He graduated from West High School in 1961.   Survivors include his beloved wife; Diane, Children; Curtiss(Cherie) Hibbs of Roscoe, Jeanette Hibbs and Laura Hibbs, grandchildren; Breanna Hibbs,Corey Hibbs, Mikayla Hibbs and Madelyn Hibbs. Mother; Edna Hibbs. Also Brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, Aunts Uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.  He is predeceased by his father William and brother Gene.  Special thanks to Dr. Edwards, the staffs of VNA hospice, Rockford Memorial Radiology department and Dryden Regional Health Center in Dryden Ontario. Services will be at 11am Monday Septemeber 14, 2009 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home,  Riverside Chapel 3910 N. Rockton Ave. with Pastor Steve Doyle officiating.  Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.  Visitation from 1pm until 4pm Sunday September 13 at Riverside Chapel and on Monday form 10am until time of service at Riverside chapel.  Send online condolences at: www.fitzgeraldfh.com
