Keith Holcomb

Keith Holcomb, 85, Rockford, passed away on January 2, 2018, at Generations at Neighbors in Byron. He was born January 8, 1932, in Rockford, the son of Harry and Arline (Wilson) Holcomb. Keith was an Army veteran serving during the Korean War attached to the 45th Infantry Division serving in Korea. He married Betty Lou Thompson in Rockton on October 31, 1953. She passed away on May 3, 2016. Keith worked as a driver for Leath Furniture Company in Rockford for many years retiring in 1985. He was a member of Berean Baptist Church and previously was a member of Rockford United Baptist Church. Keith enjoyed traveling especially “road trips” to many different places. He earned his electricians certification at the age of 57 and spent many years tinkering around the house and helping others at their homes.
Survived by his sons, Harry (Alice) Holcomb and Mark (Sheila) Holcomb, both of Rockford; his grandchildren, Arielle (James) Evans, Alyssa (Daniel) Bird, and Heidi (Kyle) Ritter; his great grandchildren, Levi and Silas Evans, and Cuyler and Avery Bird; numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends. Predeceased by his parents, his brothers, Warren, Richard, Ron, and Don Holcomb and his sister, Arlene Bauer.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, January 8, 20128, at Burritt Township Cemetery. Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory assisted the family. Share online condolences at www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
