Keith A. Johnson, 67, was taken away from his family after a short battle on Tuesday, November 20, 2007. He died of a series of strokes in the VA Hospital in Madison, WI. Keith was a graduate of West High, Class of 58. He served four years in the Air Force and then received a degree in Electronics. Keith worked for TRW before opening his own business, Johnson Technical Services in 1982. He was on the Planning and Zoning Board for Ogle County. He enjoyed playing summer baseball on the Rockford Park Senior League and on the Senior League in Marco Island, FL. Keith loved to fly and take his children and grandchildren up for rides. No words can express how much he will be missed by his wife, Shirley (Speake) Johnson; daughters, Debra (Roger) Fritz of Rockford and Donna (Bob) Gronewold of Byron; son, Lt Col, USAF, Brian (Meganne) Johnson of Washington, DC; grandchildren, Rebekah, Brandt and Danae Fritz, David, Timothy and Matthew Gronewold and Devan and Hailey Johnson; mother, Mae Johnson; sister, Marian (Roger) Newcomer of Littleton, CO; brothers, Arnold and Gary Johnson of Denver, CO; sister-in-law, Lin (Paul) Mollway of Rockford; many nieces, nephews, friends, special friends, Glenn and Betty Herberger and his kitty, SusieQ. Predeceased by his father, Rick Johnson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, ILnbsp; 61108 with Pastor Scott Snow officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 8p.m on Friday, November 23 at and also from 10-10:45 Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to injured veterans family housing support at Fisher House Foundation, Inc., 1401 Rockville Pike, Suite 600, Rockville, MDnbsp; 20852.
