Kazimierz “Casey” Strycharz, 70, of Belvidere passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Born in Poland, on August 8, 1944, the son of John and Stephanie (Wadowka) Strycharz. Casey married Barbara Wolak on January 13, 1996. He worked as a CNC Operator at Woodward, formally MPC, starting in 1983. Casey was a member at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. He volunteered with the church helping prepare specialty foods for Polish Fest and other events. Casey was a loving husband, father and grandfather and it brought him great joy to spend time with his family. He enjoyed fishing, boating, gardening and mushroom picking. He also loved the Chicago Bulls and playing cards for fun.
Survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Ursula (Mark) Bider; son, Paul (Renee) Strycharz; grandchildren, Agnes, Sebastian, Aleksandra and Izabela; siblings, Henryk (Regina) Strycharz, Emilia (Boleslaw) Zajac and Florian (Janina) Strycharz and brother-in-law, Franciszek Majocha. Predeceased by his parents, brother, Eugene Strycharz and sister, Alfreda Majocha.
Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 28, 2014 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 201 Buckbee. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 South Mulford Road, with the rosary recited at 6:45 p.m. and will continue at the church on Friday, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.
