Kay Geddes Glenny, 92, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2024, at home. She was born July 15, 1931, in Rockford, Illinois to Robert and Lyle (Nicholls) Geddes.

She graduated from West High School. Kay and Thomas Glenny were united in marriage on December 4, 1951, at Court Street United Methodist. Three children; Clinton, Carrie, and Stuart, were born of that union. Thomas and his brother, Warren, took over the family farm following the premature and unexpected deaths of Tom’s parents. Kay embraced the role of farmer’s wife in every way.

Kay was active in Aldersgate Methodist Church after she and Thomas joined as charter members. She served the church faithfully in many ways. Hard-working and selfless, she had a preference for working behind the scenes. Kay had many interests that were a part of her life. Some of which were being a farmer’s wife, her family, reading, quilting, sewing, furniture refinishing, letter writing, and family genealogy. She was also a devoted caregiver to a number of people over the years. Following the closure of West High School, she and Thomas played a part in the founding of the “Friends of West Memorabilia Room.”

Kay was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was very supportive, a great listener, always willing to help, and looked for the best in people. She will be greatly missed by her family.

Thomas passed away in 2019 and she often commented how much she missed him.
