Kathy A. Suddarth

Kathy Anne Suddarth, 59, passed away Friday, July 8, 2016 at SwedishAmerican Hospital surrounded by her loving family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on August 13, 1956 in Rockford, the daughter of Sam and Lillian (Falk) Shifo. She married Rusty Suddarth on February 26, 1983.

Kathy was loved and appreciated by all who knew her, and she built strong bonds with family and friends. She had many talents such as cooking, gardening, sewing, and baking, and was a remarkable cake decorator. Nothing was more important to her than family, and she was always there for anyone who called on her. She always put her family before herself. She was overjoyed to have been made a grandmother and had a very special place in her heart for her grandson. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Rusty; her children, Ashley Suddarth and Sam (Shanie) Suddarth; her grandson, Camden; her siblings, Gloria (Jim) Wolfe, Judy (William) Self, Connie Peters, Sharon Jensen, Linda Giorgi, Vicki DalPra, Milt (Joanne) Kling, and Ron (Linda) Kling; numerous nieces and nephews, and many devoted friends. She was predeceased by both of her parents.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd at 10:00 a.m. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel. Burial at Scandinavian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated
