Kathryn W. Durstock

Kathryn “Kathy” W. Durstock, 91, Rockford, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2022, at Morning Star Village Assisted Living. She was born August 22, 1931, in Aurora, the daughter of John and Katherine (Kramp) Weingart. Kathy was a graduate of Madonna High School in Aurora, class of 1949. Kathy married her loving husband of 39 years, William “Bill” Durstock on September 8, 1951. They moved to Rockford in 1953. From this union they were blessed with 2 children, Diane and Jay. Kathy worked in the gift shop and volunteered at the front desk of OSF St. Anthony Medical Center for over 40 years, retiring in 1996.
Kathy is survived by her daughter, Diane (Andy Bowen) Donze and her son, Jay (Trina) Durstock; her grandchildren, Clay (Isabel) Corrigan, Catherine “Cassie” (Chad) Brecunier, Samuel Donze, Bill Durstock and Mary Durstock; her great grandchildren, Makenna Corrigan, Hayden Smith, Luke and Sydney Brecunier. Predeceased by her husband, Bill, on April 28, 1991, her parents, and her sister.
Private services are being arranged. Cremation rites have been accorded and inurnment will take place at Calvary Catholic Cemetery with her husband, Bill. The family would like to thank the loving, caring staff at Morning Star Village Assisted Living and PROMEDICA Hospice.
