Kathryn J. Fosha

Kathryn J. Fosha, 96 of Rockford passed away peacefully on April 5, 2008 in Wesley Willows. Born June 13, 1911 in Hanover, IL the daughter of John W. and Jessie (Bearsley) Chapman. Kathryn graduated from Hanover High School and Browns Business College in Freeport. Kathryn married Joseph P. Fosha in Bloomington, IL on May 9, 1935. He predeceased her on January 25, 1984. Kathryn was employed as a secretary for the Rockford Board of Education for nine years and as Supervisor of Clerical Services for eighteen years, retiring in 1976. She was a member of the Court Street United Methodist Church and while residing at Wesley Willows attended Aldersgate Methodist Church. Kathryn was an active member of Rockford Womens Club, Zonta International, Retired Secretaries of Rockford Board of Education, and was a volunteer at Rockford Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Fosha is survived by her daughters Joann (William) Schroeder of Longview, TX and Karen Elmos of Rockford, one granddaughter Kathryn Ann Sutherland, one grandson William Schroeder, as well as three great- granddaughters and a great- grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe, son John Fosha, four sisters Edna, Hazel, Blanche and Berneice Chapman, and her brother Roy Chapman. Funeral Service will be private. Interment to take place in Willwood Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make a donation to the charity of their choice in honor of Kathryn Fosha.
