Kathleen V. Johnson, 65, Cherry Valley, died Wednesday, August 27, 2008 in her home after a lengthy illness with ovarian cancer. Born August 27, 1943 in Rockford, daughter of Ortho and Kathleen (Beatle) Cropp. Graduated from Muldoon High School in 1961 and Rock Valley College with a degree in Marketing. Married Charles Johnson in Rockford on August 3, 1963, having just celebrated 45 years together. Member of St. Rita Catholic Church. She was a licensed beautician, and had been a service representative with Amerock for Anderson Windows for 18 years. She was also a licensed realtor and broker and had worked for Whitehead Realtors for the past 13 years. Member of the Womens Council of Realtors and the Rockford Area Association of Realtors. Cathy was a woman of many talents. She had a passion for people and never met a stranger. She was an avid golfer and belonged to the Sinnissippi 49ers and Swan Hill Ladies Golf Leagues. She loved and cherished her family above all else. Survivors include her husband, Charles; daughters, Kimberly (Russell) Gorsuch and Kelly Johnson; son, Christopher (Christine) Johnson; grandchildren, Kathleen, Jacob, Mitchell, Spencer, Jordan, Rachel and Tristan. Also survived by her brothers, Vince Cropp, Milt (Ann) Cropp and Ronnie (Barb) Cropp; sisters, Betty (Wayne) Gabel and Juanita (Robert) Metters; sister-in-law, Exie Shoemaker; brother-in-law, Sam (Gaile) Johnson and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents and sisters, Lois Alms and Evelyn Alms. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2008 in St. Rita Catholic Church with Rev. Matthew Camaioni officiating. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with a Christian Wake Service at 7:30p.m. There will also be a visitation at 9:00 a.m. until time of the service at the church on Wednesday. Memorials to the family .
