Karl M. Mueller

Karl M. Mueller, 61"Opa" Karl M. Mueller, 61, Rockford, died Wednesday, October 7, 2009 in his home. Born February 2, 1948 in Bamberg, Germany, son of Mathias and Emilie Ternes Mueller. Veteran of U.S. Army. Married Cheryl Peacock Knighton on August 10, 1996. He was self-employed. Karl was a man with a great appreciation for the outdoors, loved to work in his yard and was always available to help others. He had a great sense of humor, loved country music and loved to dance. One of his greatest enjoyments was watching his grandson, Porter, play baseball. He was always a loving and supportive husband whose life revolved his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Cheryl; son, Mathias (Leighann) Mueller; granddaughters, Cassidy and Faith Mueller; step-son, Brent (Kelly) Knighton; step-grandson, Porter "Opas Little Squirt" Knighton; brothers, Hannes (Katy) Mueller and Blasius Mueller and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; brother Pius Mueller and sister, Martina Mueller. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 2009 in Victory Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Robertson officiating. Visitation from 1:30 p.m. until time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
