Karen L. Osenga Karen L. Osenga, 66, of West Des Moines, Iowa, formerly of Chicago, passed away unexpectedly on June 11, 2009 and is now with the love of her life Eddie. Karen was born July 4, 1942 in Chicago the daughter of Robert and Elaine (Sampatis) Lindquist. Karen married Edward Osenga on March 3, 1962 at Queen of Apostles in Riverdale, IL. Karen attended Thornton Community College and received an Associate Degree. She was a fourth grade teacher at Queen of Apostles Elementary School in Riverdale and spent more than 20 years as a Customer Service Representative for Channel Prime Alliance in Des Moines, Iowa. Karen loved cats, animals, and wildlife, and was known to frequently hand-feed the animals. Karen is survived by her two daughters, Tamara "Tammy" (Andy) Wojciechowski and Sandy (Kerry) Hill; grandchildren, Ryan and Adam Hill; her mother, Elaine Lindquist; sister, Diane (Tom) Ahart; nieces, Lisa (Natalie) Daugherty and Leigh (Tony) Fitzsimmons; nephew, Dan (Kim) Ahart; three great-nieces, her feline companion, Phoebe, and also leaves behind many loved members of the Osenga family. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward (March 30, 1995) and her father, Robert Lindquist (May 2007). Funeral services for Karen will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at 3 P.M. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 1 P.M. until time of service.
