Karen J. Taylor

Karen J. Taylor, 71, Rockford, died on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 in River Bluff Nursing Home from complications of Alzheimers. Born October 26, 1941 in Cape Girardeau, MO, daughter of Nell McBryde and Clarence Hedge. She received a bachelors degree from Northern Illinois University and was employed by Hamilton Sundstrand Corp. for many years before retiring in 2005. She loved working in her yard, reading and was a talented musician. Karen was a wonderful woman who showed love to everyone she came in contact with and always found the good in others. She loved life, her family, her friends and was an inspiration to all.

Survivors include her children, Tamara (Robert) Swanson and Kevin (Bridget) Taylor; grandchildren, Samuel Swanson, Lauren Taylor, Christian Taylor and Erin Taylor; brothers, Ron (Nancy) Hedge and Harold (Pat) Hedge. Predeceased by her parents.

A Memorial Service to honor Karen's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2013 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road.
