Karen S. Hatter, 67, of Rockford, IL passed away on April 2, 2024, of natural causes after living a full life. She was born in Syracuse, NY, daughter to Raymond and Mary (Axtmann) Hatter. She was raised in Liverpool, NY and graduated from the Liverpool High School class of 1974. After living in beautiful upstate New York for many years Karen moved to Rockford, IL, where she spent the remainder of her life. Karen was a woman who knew what she wanted, and who embraced life with gusto. Riding her motorcycle through winding roads brought her unparalleled joy, riding hundreds of miles to visit friends and to see the country. Once you entered her circle of friendship, you had a friend for life and she was seen as thoughtful and caring by those friends. In her heart, she held a special place for her many beloved dogs and cats; they brought immeasurable love and companionship throughout the years. Their loyalty mirrored the unwavering love she shared with all friends in her life.
Survived by her niece, Danielle (Hatter) Krogerson.
Although we are saddened by the passing of Karen, let us celebrate a life lived authentically and boldly. A memorial service will be scheduled in Liverpool NY in the future. May her memory live on in the hearts of those who were honored with her friendship. Cremation rites were accorded with Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, Illinois 61108. If you wish to honor her memory with a gift, please make a donation to the charity that is closest to your own heart.
