Karen died Monday, November 23, 2009 after a 4 year battle with cancer. Born April 3, 1969, to Lawrence and Diane (Sicotte) Didier. Graduate of Boylan High School, class of 1987, and Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, receiving her BA degree in 1992. Former employee of OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. Survived by mother, Diane; daughters, Isabella and Juliana and stepdaughter, Erin, all of Rockford; brother Paul (Mary) Didier; and nephew, Asher of Seattle. Predeceased by father, Lawrence; maternal and paternal grandparents; and infant brothers, Lawrence and Andrew. The family would like to thank the following people who helped Karen throughout her journey; doctors, Hoskins and Bryant of OSF Cancer Center, Sue and Steve Didier, Brian Didier, Anne Preston, Shaun Sicotte, Kim Hiller Joan and Al Riportella, as well as the staff of Northern Illinois Hospice amp; Grief Center, especially Rebecca Strong and Brenda Byrne.
Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, in St. James Catholic Church, with the Rev. David E. Beauvais officiating. Visitation from 5 t0 8 p.m. Friday Nov. 27 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave., with a Christian Wake Service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation also from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Saturday in the church.
