Junella M. ""June"" Cavanagh Junella M. ""June"" Cavanagh, 82, a longtime resident of Rockford, formerly of St. Charles for 8 years and Aurora for 10 years, went to be with the Lord on January 17, 2008 at Rockford Memorial Hospital. June was born January 4, 1926 in St. Charles, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Marie M. (Heglund) Vonck. June married Donald W. Cavanagh in Aurora, IL on July 15, 1944. June was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Bernadette Church. June is survived by her children, Lynn Luethje, Mary Spate, Dennis (Connie) Cavanagh and Kathy (Michael) Murray; Seven grandchildren; Eight great-grandchildren; her sister, Geraldine A. (Byron) Nelson of Batavia, IL; her sister-in-law, Mary Schelling of Tennessee; her close friend Erna Seiler and many nieces and nephews. June was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald (June 11, 1997), her sister-in-law Leona Cavanagh, her brother-in-law John Cavanagh and her son-in-law Robert Luethje. A special thank you to the nursing staff at Rockford Memorial Hospital and VNA Hospice. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Tuesday, January 22 at St. Bernadette Church, 2400 Bell Ave. with Fr. William R. Wentink officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary/St. James Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 21 from 4 8 PM (with a scripture service at 7 PM) at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Rockford Memorial Hospital.
