June Wahlquist

June V. Wahlquist, 93, Rockford, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2012, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center.nbsp; She was born June 9, 1919, in Rockford, the daughter of Sten and Inga (Andersen) Severson.nbsp; June married Helgee Wahlquist in Rockford on June 20, 1945.nbsp; He passed away in Rockford on May 21, 1992. She worked at Nihan and Martin Pharmacy for many years as a pharmaceutical assistant.nbsp; June was a lifelong member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church.nbsp; She was a 1937 graduate of Rockford Central High School. June was an avid Cubs fan, enjoyed golfing, drama, and was a wonderful calligrapher and artist. She was a member of the Sons of Norway and sang in the Our Saviors church choir for many years.

Survived by her son, John (Marianne) Wahlquist of Rockford; daughter, Barbara (Mick) Manne of Rockton; grandchildren, Tim (Bailey) Wahlquist, Wendy (Edward) Perry, Anthony and Andrew Manne; greatgrandson, Kyan Perry; many nieces and nephews including, Cindy Erickson, Connie Wallen, Gary (Julie) Severson, Richard (Deborah) Severson, Janice (Tom) Kline, Susan (John) Anderson, and Sandy Spitzmiller; brothersinlaw, Stanley Wahlquist and Warren Layng. Predeceased by her husband, Helgee, her parents; her sister, Barbara Delatorre; and her brother, Sigurd Severson.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am. Tuesday, December 4, 2012, in Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 3300 Rural Street, Rockford, with Reverend Jeffrey Fricke officiating.
