Julia Anne "?Judy Mullen, 75 Judy was born on October 15, 1934 in Oklahoma City, OK; the daughter of George and LaBurna (Strauss) Hansen. Growing up in Rockford she graduated from West High School in 1952. Judy married Robert "?Bob Mullen on August 22, 1953 at St. Peter Cathedral. They had four children, Kathleen, Michael, Thomas and Christopher. After Bobs death, Judy went to work at the Catholic Education Office retiring from there in 2002. In 1999 Judy was honored with the Benemerenti Medal for her many years of service to the Catholic Church. On June 8, 2010, Judy peacefully passed away in her home, where she had lived for almost fifty years. Judy is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (James) Kuroda; sons, Michael (Rebecca) Mullen and Christopher (Rosemary) Mullen; grandchildren, Jay (Jennifer), Robert (Laura) and Christopher (Tiffany) Kuroda, Kathryn and Max Mullen; great-grandchildren, Julia and Jacqueline Kuroda and Oliver Mullen. Judy was predeceased by her father, George on April 21, 1948; mother, LaBurna on June 6, 1987; husband, Bob on March 12, 1976; son, Thomas on November 4, 1959 and daughter-in-law, Rhonda (Avick) Mullen on September 22, 2001. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 14, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. Peter with Most Reverend Thomas G. Doran, D.D.,J.C.D., Bishop of Rockford as the Celebrant and Reverend Monsignor William Schwartz, P.A. as the concelebrant.Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8pm, with a Rosary recited at 7:30pm on Sunday, June 13 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel and also from 10:30am until time of service Monday at the Cathedral.
