Judith Salamone

Judith Quinn Salamone, of Cherry Valley, IL, passed away on April 18, 2025 at her home, her two daughters at her side, after many years of living with breast cancer. She was the daughter of Dr. Charles and Florence Quinn of Rockford, IL, born November 27, 1958. Judy was a 1976 graduate of Guilford High School and of Northern Illinois University. She married the love of her life, Charles (Chris) Salamone who predeceased her on April 15, 2020.

Judy was the epitome of survivor, warrior, life force extraordinaire, always finding the strength for adventures, travel, family and friends. She was funny as hell with a quick, mischievous, playful sense of humor. She loved a party, gardening, drawing, game nights with friends and, above all, her children and grandchildren.

Judy is survived by her daughters Lindsay (Mike) Brechon and Kelly (Dusty) Brehm, both retaining the strong and independent spirits she imparted on them. Her beloved grandchildren are Bowe, Nora, Campbell and Olivia.

The family acknowledges the outstanding care and compassion for Judy from Dr. Alaeddin Maeza and Dr. Harneet Gahley.

A Memorial Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:45 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road Rockford, Illinois 61108. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Noah's Ark, 111 North 1st Street, Rockford, IL 61107.
