Judith C. Andrychuk

October 21, 1947 — December 12, 2008

Judith C. (Weaks) Andrychuk Beloved Sister, Daughter, Aunt and Friend   Judith C. Andrychuk, of Roscoe, died at 5:50 a.m. at Maple Crest Care Centre after a short battle with cancer.  Born October 21, 1947 in Nashville, TN. to Buddie B. and Evelyn M. (Manners) Weaks.  Judy attended schools in Peoria, graduating from Dunlap High School.  She graduated from Rockford College with a BS in Business.  Jude met the love of her life, Stephen F. Andrychuk, at Bradley University and they married in Rochester, New York on June 6, 1970.  She worked her way up at Sundstrand, retiring in 2002  as a Director.  She was, for many years, the highest female executive at Sundstrand.  While at Sundstrand, she served on many boards, including, among other, Rock River Valley Girl Scouts, United Way and Roscoe Animal Retreat.  She also participated in Junior Achievement programs.   Judy is survived by her mother and step-father, Evelyn (Robert) Burdick of Canton, IL and Sun City, AZ.; sisters, Dr. L. Marilyn Weaks of St. Louis, MO, Barbara (Kenneth) Bloomfield of Belvidere and Sandra (Edward) Wood of Peoria; step-mother, Dorothy Weaks of Peoria, her nieces and nephews, Curt, Stephanie, Scott, Todd, Dane, Christine, Lynn and Cheryl; her extended family, Cheryl Kneubuehl of Dakota, Tom and Carol Guschl of Monroe Center, Keith and Kathy Magnus of Belvidere and Carl Mansell of Newnan, Ga.   Jude was an avid book reader, gardener, world traveler, gourmet cook, collector of art, cows, mortar and pestles, roosters, matchbox holders, turtles and salts, devoted (Obsessive?) Packer fan and animal lover.  She loved her pets, including Casey, Mickey, Dingo, Chuckie and Reggie.  But she loved all animals, rescuing many and donating to many animal charities.  She was a kind and generous woman, sharing her life with her many friends and family. She included them in many aspects of her life including her travels, the many art fairs  and  her cooking. Her personality and zest for life will be sorely missed by her family, her extended family, her Sundstrand friends and her many other friends and neighbors.   Special thanks for their extra special care to Dr. Mary Simmons and her staff, the staff at Maple Crest Care Centre, Northern Illinois Hospice & Grief Center and her wonderful neighbors, the Ackerlunds and Sallingers, and, of course, Rose.  We would also like to thank her caregivers from the last four and a half years, Bayra and Halina.   Memorial service at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, December 18, 2008 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with Pastor Matt Kitchen, Heartland Community Church officiating. A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. until time of the service on Thursday.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hoo Haven, 10823 Cleveland Rd., Durand, IL. 61024, Ollies Parrot Perch, 114 N. Main St., Creston, IL. 60113 or Noahs Ark, 111 N. First St., Rockford, IL. 61107.  Condolences may be shared at www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
