Rockford- Judith A. (Bjur) Hallden, 72, went to sing in Heavens choir on Friday, June 19, 2009 at 7:41 p.m. at Rockford Memorial Hospital. Born January 3, 1937 in Rockford, daughter of Kenneth E. and Edna H. (Hess) Peterson. Graduate of West High School class of 1954 and attended Northern Illinois University. Worked in the office for Liebovich Brothers retiring in 1999. Member of Temple Baptist Church where she sang her praises to the Lord in the church choir. She was also a member of the Breath of Praise singing group, The Prime Timers, Vesper Ministries and Jobs Daughters. She belonged to the Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority, was an active member of Class of 54 reunion committee and was an excellent seamstress who loved to quilt, crochet and sew. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Rockford Memorial ICU Staff and nurses, especially, Carissa Williams, Dr. Chang and Dr. Roy. Judy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. Survivors include her husband, James "Jim" Hallden of Rockford; children, Barbara Betts of Machesney Park, Rich Bjur of Rockford, Lisa (Glenn Grigoletti) Alexander of Rockford and Heidi (David) Fields of Round Lake Beach; grandchildren, Jessica (David) Estrada, Julie, Patrick and Sarah Betts, Kyle and Erika Bjur and Sydney and Audrey Fields; great grandson, Lucas Betts; sister, Christine (Michael) Hunter of College Station, TX; niece, Debbie Doran and nephew Christoper Hunter; 5 step-children; 6 step-grandchildren; 3 step-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents. Memorial Service Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church, 3215 E. State St. Rockford with Pastor Bill Patterson officiating. Visitation Wed. in church from 1-2 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family for a fund to be established. Cremation rites accorded by Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel.
