Judith A. Amenda

Judith Ann Amenda, 92, of Rockford, passed away at home on Sunday, July 16, 2023.

Judy was born in Sublette, IL on September 12, 1930, the daughter of William and Meredith (Raffenberger) Burd. She graduated from Rockford West High School. Judy married Donald E. Amenda on April 22, 1951, at St. Edward Catholic Church in Rockford. She worked at Swedish American Hospital for 21 years.

Surviving relatives include her husband, Donald Amenda; children, Jerald (Jennifer) Amenda, JoEllen (Dan) O’Neil and Eugene (Ruth) Amenda; grandchildren, Kristine Gentry, Diana Slager, John Amenda, Kathryn Butera, Colin Amenda; several great-grandchildren and sister, Jackie Hucker. Judy is predeceased by her parents, daughter, Debra Hart Christiansen; sister, Donna Jones and brother, James Burd.

To honor Judy’s wishes, no public services will be held at this time.
