Juanita M. Gomez

Juanita M. Gomez, 70, of Rockford was peacefully called home on Tuesday, October 10, 2017; surrounded by her family. She was born in Alamo, Texas on February 25, 1947; daughter of David and Rita (Flores) Medina. To Juanita, family meant everything to her. If it was cooking for them, sporting events for her grandkids, or just being together, Juanita was happiest. Juanita’s love and passion for her family will live on through them, and it will never be forgotten.

She is survived by her children, Imilda (Rogelio) Diaz, Diana (fiancé, Ricardo) Bautista, Dana Reyes, Anna (Siarhei) Baranau, Juan (Chelsea) Reyes, Tita Perez, Andrea (Pedro) Rodriguez, Fernando (Allison) Gomez, Sergio (Leigh) Gomez, Gabriel (fiancé, Christina) Gomez; her 25 grandchildren; Jesus, Aracelli, Rogelio, Jessica, Marisol, Crespin, Clementina, Carina, Andrianna, Juan Antonio, Anastasya, Rylee, Annalissa, D. Brandon, Breanna, Alondra, Thalia, Alexis, Faith Elyssa, Jazmin, Vanessa, Sebastian, and Adrian; 11 great grandchildren, Gizelle, Alaniz, Marley, Kristiana, Severiano, Callie, Leo, Axil, Mathias, and Xander. Juanita is predeceased by her parents, and her sister, Mirta Garcia; and grandson, Danny Diaz.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2017; at St. Edward Catholic Church, 3004 11th St. Rockford, IL, 61109. A visitation will be held from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 8 PM on Friday, October 13, 2017; at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL, 61108; and will continue on Saturday from 10 AM until time of Mass. Burial will follow to Greenwood Cemetery in Rockford. Share condolences online at www.fitzgeraldfh.com
