Juan “Luis” Tapia Lopez, 47, passed away unexpectedly in his home on July 16, 2022. Born in a small town in Michoacan, Mexico on June 2, 1975 to Hector Tapia Gonzales and Maria Salome Lopez Andrade. Juan came to the United States to create a better life for him and his future family. He proudly worked at NyClo Screw Machine Products in Rockford for over 10 years, and had commented that he was excited to go back to work while he was on vacation. One of Juan's biggest dreams that he worked hard to achieve was to have his own home and garden, both of which he spent hours tending to and took great pride in. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time in Crystal Lake with his friends and watching documentaries to learn new things. Fond memories for his children include the pranks he used to pull on them and the quality time they spent together walking their dogs.
He will be missed by those who loved him most, his children Selena Tapia, Briana Tapia, and Andrea Salome Tapia; his dog he considered his child Fiona; his father, brother, three sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother.
A visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church, 3004 11th Street, Rockford, Illinois 61109. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. To send online condolences, please visit www.fitzgeraldfh.com
