Joyce E. Raiber

Joyce E. Raiber, 72, of Rockford, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 11, 2015; with her loving family at her side. Joyce was born in Elwood, Iowa; on May 11, 1943; to parents John W. and Fern V. (Ruggeberg) Clarke. She graduated from Elwood High School in 1961 and went on to business school to study accounting. Joyce married her husband, Ronald R. Raiber on November 30, 1968. Joyce and Ronald were members of Christ United Methodist Church for 40 years where they raised their family. Joyce enjoyed spending her time with her Gardening Club, and her Investment Group. Most of all, Joyce loved being a Grandmother, Lucas and Gabriella were her greatest joy. Joyce was a giving woman, who spent many years volunteering for the elderly with Meals On Wheels, and devoted her time to help children in the Parent Action Network and Church youth groups. Joyce was a blessing to us all, and her family and friends will miss her dearly.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Ronald R. Raiber; daughter, Marci (Manuel) Molina; grandchildren, Lucas and Gabriella Molina; sister, Linda Mohr; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents.
Joyce’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Wesley Willows, the Oncology Nurses at Swedish American, Swedish American Regional Cancer Center, Heartland Hospice, and to Dr. Robert Dempsey at the UW Madison Medical Center.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 17, 2015; at Christ United Methodist Church, 4509 Highcrest Rd., Rockford, IL, 61107. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of service on Tuesday. Private family burial in Scandinavian Cemetery.
