Joshua Jacob Leek

Joshua Jacob Leek, 23, of Rockford, left this earth at 10:42am on Sunday, September 30, 2007 when God called him home. He was born, April 14, 1984; the son of Randy Leek and Jennifer Van Zieleghem. Josh had many loves; most importantly his family, his cats, his many special friends, new challenges and chocolate, so much in fact he landed the nickname ""Chocolate Man"" during his earlier school years. Joshs smile would fill his entire face and will be greatly missed. Josh is now free, free to run like the wind and wear the soles off of his brand new sneakers! Survivors include his father, Randy (Julie) Leek of Davis Junction; mother Jennifer Van Zieleghem of Rockford; sisters, Amber (Mike Sarver) Leek and Sierra Leek; grandparents, Jim (Irene) Leek of Metropolis and E. Richard (Diana) Van Zieleghem of Cherry Valley; aunts, Sheila (Spud) Miller, Shelly (Rich) Abate, Sheri (Mike) Bossany and Heidi (Rick) Britton; great-grandmother, Jane Geiger of Byron; several cousins and many special friends. Predeceased by his grandmother, Marlene Leek.Funeral services will be held at 5pm on Friday, October 5, 2007 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL. Visitation will be held from 3-5pm on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Walter Lawson Childrens Home.
