Josephine R. (Armato) Taylor, 97, Rockford, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at Crimson Pointe. She was born July 27, 1920, in Franklin, LA, the daughter of Carlo and Mamie (Rebecca) Armato. She married James E. Taylor on December 31, 1951. He passed away in 1985. Josephine worked at Barber Colman for 12 years and then at Sunbeam Appliance for 11 years before retiring in 1981.
Survived by her children, Faustine Kenerson and Joseph (Millie) Fiorenza, both of Rockford, and Nancy (Dr. Robert) Dyer of Dixon; her 8 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; her brother, Phil Armato. Predeceased by her husband, James; her grandson, Keven Kenerson; her 3 brothers, Felix, Peter, and Sam Armato; her sister, Madlyn Armato; and her son-in-law, Joe Kenerson
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, October 5, 2017, at St. Bridget Catholic Church,600 Clifford Av, Loves Park, with Reverend Ryan Browning officiating. Entombment at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until time of service on Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
