Josephine ""Chick"" Batutis, 86, of Rockford, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2009, in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 4, 1922, in Madison, WI; the daughter of Frank and Josephine (Licari) Inglima. She married William Batutis in Rockford on October 22, 1944. He passed away in 1994. Chick was the manager in cosmetics at Eagle Foods on Riverside for over 12 years, and was a longtime member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. She enjoyed bowling, where she was active in many leagues throughout the years and continued to bowl until she was 85 years old. Chick enjoyed gardening and was known for her wonderful cooking. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Robert (Jaymie) Batutis of Rockford, Denise (Michael) Valenti of Suwanee, GA and Steve (Kimberly) Batutis of Carlsbad, CA; grandchildren, Michael Batutis, Hilary (Kris) Vesely, Noelle Batutis and Stephanie Valenti; sisters, Florence Marriott and Ann Jackalone; sister-in-law, Louise Inglima and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband William; son, Dennis; brothers, Joe and Sam Inglima and sisters, Angeline Giglio and Rose Paluzzi. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am Saturday, January 17, 2009, in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1010 Ferguson St. with the Franciscan Friars officiating. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation to be held from 5-7pm with a scripture service at 6:45pm on Friday, January 16, 2009, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL 61108. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rockford Rescue Mission, 715 W.
