Joseph Russo James, 26 years old, was born in Rockford, Illinois, to his loving parents, Andria Russo and John James. He passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 18th in Plainfield, Illinois. He graduated from St. Peter Grade School and graduated from Boylan High School in 2009. Also, in 2009 he proudly received his Eagle Scout Award.
He was a gentle old soul and all who met him loved him. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, his brilliant mind and kind heart. He was an avid reader and poetry writer. He was a passionate Cubs fan who loved music and playing his guitar. There are many cherished memories of playing trivia pursuit games long into the night with his mother and family.
Of all those he loved, he especially loved his brother and best friend, Sam. He was known for never missing his brother’s many football and basketball games over the years.
He will be forever missed by his mother, Andria Russo, father, John James, siblings, Samuel James, Dan Kristen, Brandon and Brittney Berglund; grandparents, Shirley and Richard Staas, Fred Russo, and Bernadette and Greg James; aunts and uncles, Marnie (John) Ambrose, Fred (Kim) Russo, Kathy (Roger) Westland, Greg (Nicole) James, cousins; Charlie, Anthony, Dominic, Paige, John, Chelsea, Trey, and special friend, Jules Tourville.
There will be a friends and family visitation at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 3910 North Rockton Avenue, Rockford, Illlinois on Tuesday, February 27th from 4:00 till 6:00 pm A full Catholic service will take place at Overman-Jones Funeral Home on Thursday, February 22nd in Plainfield, Illinois.
