Born March 2, 1910 in Calumet, Michigan to Charles and Maria (Castigliano) Peila. Married Mary Elizabeth Rotello in Rockford on June 14, 1936. Worked for W.F. and John Barnes Co. for 47 years retiring on April 1, 1975 as a service manager. Member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church and Giuseppe Verdi Society.Survivors; Son, Charles J. (Dolores) Peila of Rockford; Daughter, Celia (Nick) Waite of Challis, ID; Sister, Angelina Milani of Rockford; Brother, Albert (Mary) Peila of Rockford; Grandchildren, Joseph A. Peila of Chicago, Il. Tina M (Michael) Long of Lombard, IL. And Kathleen M. (Ben) Ramp of Geneseo, IL; 9 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by Parents, Charles and Marie; Wife, Mary; Brother, Armand; Granddaughter, Antoinette M. Peila and Great-Granddaughter Rosemary Long.Funeral Mass 10 am Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, October 11, 2010 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory 3910 N. Rockton Ave., Rosary to be recited at 7:30 p.m. Visitation Tuesday morning from 9 to 9:45 in the Parish Center at St. Bernadette Church.
