Joseph Nicosia was called to Heaven into the arms of our Lord and our Lady on Tuesday, November 30th, 2021. Joe was a loving father, brother, uncle, son, and friend. As a devout Catholic and a caring soul, he devoted his life to Jesus, Mary, the saints, his family, friends, and anyone in need. His mission in life was to bring others to Christ, to protect the unborn and their mothers, and to encourage and restore faith in all through his sincere, selfless love.
Born in Rockford in 1958, Joe attended East High School and was a mail carrier for over 30 years, where he dedicated himself to his work and to the many friendships he made on his mail routes. Joe was compassionately pro-life and attended daily mass, as well as the adoration chapel to spend time with our Lord.
For many years, he was an advocate for prayer ministry at local nursing homes, bringing joy and hope to those who needed it most. He was an amazing artist who created beautiful, religious works of art to bring glory to God, as well as to brighten the lives of those around him. Joe also led a worldwide online rosary group with thousands of followers, leading many in prayer and conversions. He changed many lives through his generosity, humility, and kindness… and will be deeply missed by all.
Joe is survived by his beloved daughter Mandy (BJ), beloved brother Rosario, beloved nephew Nick (Mindy), beloved aunt Sara Martorana (Frank), numerous cousins, and thousands of friends across the globe. Predeceased by parents Rosario and Antoinette, brother Alan, sister Ami, and cousin Geno Cuppini. May eternal rest be granted unto Joe, O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen.
