Joseph Francis Sisti passed away Saturday February 25, 2012 in Swedish American Hospital.nbsp; He was born March 5, 1927 in Rockford.nbsp; The son of Lewis and Mary Sisti.nbsp; He married Josephine Gallina in Rockford on June 5, 1954.nbsp; He worked for Barber Coleman, he then worked for many years as a metallurgist for Camcar Textron where he advanced to position of Vice President of Quality Control.
Joseph as a veteran of the Navy, serving during WWII.nbsp; He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and a member of the Rockford Art Guild and the American Society of Metallurgical Engineers.nbsp; Joseph was a graduate of West High, class of 1945, and a graduate of the Illinois Institute of Technology.nbsp; Joseph also played the trumpet for the VFW Drum amp; Bugle Crop, which later became (predecessor) to the Phantom Regiment.
Survivors include his Wife Josephine.nbsp; Four children, Jeff (Frances) of Oklahoma City, OK, Jon (Kelly) of Wytheville, VA, Jeannine (Patrick) Plath of Poplar Grove and Janelle (John) Jones of Round Lake Beach.nbsp; Grandchildren, Greg (Kelsey Sisti , Sarah (Zach) Edwards, Stephen (Leslie) Sisti, Nick Sisti, Stephanie Sisti, Joe Sisti, Phil Sisti, Jay, Christopher and Leanne Plath, Jennifer and Jessica Jones.nbsp; Great grandchildren, Ava, Luke and Reed.nbsp; Brother, Gainard (Marilyn) Sisti of Pawleys Island, SC.nbsp; Predeceased by his parents, brother, Lewis and Sister Julie.
Funeral Mass at 1pm Thursday March 1, 2012 in Holy Family Catholic Church.nbsp; Visitation from 5pm until 7pm Wednesday February 29, 2012 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home 1860 South Mulford Road with rosary at 7pm.nbsp; Visitation also from 12pm until time of Mass Thursday in the Church.nbsp; Private family burial.
