Joseph A. Paravala, 97, of Rockford, passed away, Sunday, April 12, 2015. Born in Rockford on December 2, 1917, to parents Joseph and Maria (Gagliano) Paravala. He proudly served his country in the United States Army in World War II. Joe was full of life, and was forever passionate for his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Mary M. Paravala; son, Robert (Mel) Paravala; grandchildren, Dr. David Chesak, Christina (Danny) Beck, Jon Chesak, and Debra (Jeremy) Stockford; great grandchildren, Paris Delgado, Caleb and Mikaela Collins, and Joe Gassaway; son-in-law, Tom (Sharon) Chesak. Predeceased by his parents; first wife, Mary; daughter, Bernadette Chesak; and granddaughter, Laura Gassaway. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, 3910 N. Rockton Ave., Rockford, IL, 61103, with a visitation starting at 10:00 a.m., prior to service. Burial immediately following the service at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.
