Jon W Nelson

Jon W. Nelson, 65, of Loves Park, passed away on October 24, 2013 after a sudden illness. He was born in Austin, MN on June 24, 1948; the son of Donald and Darlene Nelson. Jon served our country in the US Army from 1968-1970; where he earned the rank of Sergeant and Expert Marksman. He worked for Austin utilities for many years before moving to Rockford. He then became a cook at the Loves Park V.F.W where he established his "world famous meatloaf." He received his letters of accomplishment from both Loves Park Mayor and Police Department, for State Mayoral Dinners.
Jon is survived by his son, Jeffrey; daughters, Jennifer, Amber and Crystal; sister, Donna (Dennis) Soukup; brother, Terry (Sandy) Nelson; nieces and nephews; DF Cat, Chi-Chi; extended family, Becky Gray, Mike, Nikki and Roseanne Marquee, Joey,Thomas and Andy. Predeceased by his parents and brother; Michael. The family would like to thank Hospice Care of America for their compassionate care. I
