Johnnie Lee Robinson

Johnnie Lee Robinson, 56, Rockford, died in his home of esophageal cancer on Sunday, June 12, 2011. Born December 6, 1954 in Epps, LA, son of Hardin Robinson and Lavetta Gorden. Employed by Gunite Corp. for several years and for the past 10 years had been self employed. Johnnie was an excellent roller skater, and also enjoyed fishing and drawing. He was a good, generous man who never met a stranger. He always had a positive attitude and a smile on his face. Survivors include his mother, Lavetta Robinson; siblings, Juanita Craig, Hardin (Evoin) Robinson, Jr., Benny (Zinnia) Gorden, Alonzo Gorden, Linda Marie(Calvin) Awkward and Penelope (Marvin) Bruce; special friend, Mark Taskey and other friends, Dave Valters, Darin and Jeff Dock and Maris and Bev. Predeceased by his father, Hardin Robinson; brothers, Pecolia Gorden, Charles Robinson, James Robinson, Cleveland Robinson and sister, Annie Yvonne Day. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff on the Oncology Unit of Swedish American Hospital and the staff of Heartland Hospice. Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2011 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. with Rev. Jon McNary officiating.
