Johnathan "John" D. Stuckey

Johnathan D. Stuckey, begrudgingly known as Bubba by family, 36, passed away unexpectedly on June 4, 2021. He was born in Rockford, Illinois on May 12, 1985 son to David and Polly (Jobes) Stuckey. John graduated from Harlem High School in 2003, and went on to continue his education to work as a welder, recently being employed by Henning Inc. In his free time John lived by the “if it was free, it was me!” motto; he enjoyed colleting anything mechanical that he could fix or find use for. His most recent idea being that he could creating a floating bench to take down the Kishwaukee River to sell drinks. He and his family had many good memories boating, tubing, working on anything mechanical, going to Nascar Races with his dad or going to the Byron Drag Strip. He also enjoyed taking his kids to Great America, a family tradition of getting season passes for the past 30 years has produced invaluable memories. His most famous words were a genuine “I’m sorry” and “I love you.” He will be remembered by his love to tell jokes and tall tales, kind hearted and sincere personality.

He will be missed by those who loved him most, his children Sara, Chloe, Lauren and Allie; his parents David and Polly; his siblings Jason and Brandy (Eric) Udelhofen; his grandma Janet Gibbs; his grandfather Wayne (JoAnn) Jobes; nieces and nephews Charlee, Bella, Aiden, Anniemarie (Justin), Dominique (Marianna), William, Haven, and Carson; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and beloved friends as well as his two beloved pet squirrels. He was predeceased by his grandparent James “Papa” Gibbs and nephew, Tony.

A celebration of life will be hosted by his family, and will take place on Friday, June 11, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at 1414 Glen Forest Drive, Machesney Park, Illinois, 61115.
