John Steinbach

John Steinbach, 84 of Rockford went home to be with the Lord, July 1, 2007 in his home after a long illness. Born February 13, 1923, he married Susanna Schulz on June 6, 1946, in Austria. He and Susanna moved to Rockford in 1953. He worked for Dean Foods for 32 years before retiring in 1984. John was a member of Berean Baptist Church. nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; Survivors include his sons Karl Steinbach of Wis., and John Jr. (Debbie) of Machesney Park; daughters Kathy (Dennis) Erb of Rockford and Liz (Jim) Carey of Santa Clara, Calif. 11 grandchildren and 9 great- grandchildren; sister Kathi of Austria and special friend Dottie Froeliger. He is predeceased by his wife and his mother. nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; Funeral services will be held in Berean Baptist Church, Friday, July 6, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Melvin Swanson officiating. Visitation will be at Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave., Rockford from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, July 5.
