John R. Lindstrom, (Swede) 65, passed away in his home surrounded by his family, on February 16, 2024. Born in Rockford, Illinois, on February 19, 1958, son to Ronald A. Lindstrom and Betty (Nelson) Lindstrom, Pett.
John was a member of Carpenters Local 792 where he served as president, and vice president. He also served on the board. He retired in 2021.
John and his wife Deborah Hill were married, on October 24, 1987, at Zion Lutheran Church in Rockford where they along with their children are members.
John was a lifelong member of the LLL Society and Blackhawk Athletic Club, he also was a member of the Verdi Club, and American Lombardi Society, where he made many friends that were like family to him!
John was a Master Mason and member of Star in the East Lodge # 166, and Rockford Lodge # 102. John enjoyed trap shooting at the SM & SF Club with his BAC team, boating on the Rock River with family & friends, snowmobile trips with his son Mike, LLL Fishing Club trips to Deerfoot Lodge in Hayward, WI with his son Erik, his many trips to Las Vegas with his mom, Betty, his annual Christmas shopping trip with granddaughter, Rylee, playing Mr. Potato Head with Addison, snuggling with Lillian, and vacationing to Indian Rocks Beach Florida with his family. Nothing was more important to John than spending time and making memories with his family and friends.
He will be missed by those who loved him most, his wife of 36 years, Debbie; his sons Mike (Alicia Kopplin) and Erik (special friend Marjorie) Lindstrom; his grandchildren Rylee, Addison, and Lillian Lindstrom; his mother Betty Pett; his sisters Cindy Bellone (Jim Forney) and Susan McNeely; multiple nieces and nephews, and special friend, Tom DalSanto. He is predeceased by his father Ronald Lindstrom and stepfather Richard Pett.
A Celebration of John’s Life will take place on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at the LLL Society, 1515 9th street, Rockford, Illinois 61104.
