John R. Kuss

John R. Kuss, 72, of Rockford passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 6, 2017. He was born on July 5, 1945 in Rockford, the son of Eugene and Bernice (Sertoft) Kuss. He married the love of his life, Linda Groff on August 27, 1966 at St. Mary’s, Oshkosh, WI. and settled in the Northern Illinois countryside to raise their family. John was a graduate of Boylan High School and owner of Information Controls, Inc where he worked with his 3 sons for 31 years. Over his career he served on many boards; Oregon CC (President), Byron Bank, Crusader Clinic, Midtown District, Boca Sands Condo Assn in St. Pete Beach Florida. He was an avid golfer, fisherman and enjoyed traveling the world. John had a culinary passion and found great pleasure in sharing with those around him. Most of all, John loved being around his family and friends, especially days at the lakes in Wisconsin and sunsets in Florida.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; his children, Mathew (Kathleen), Michael (Julie) & Johnathan (Jennifer); his Grandchildren, Alex, Seth, Janie, Connor, Dain, Olivia, Elane and Eden.

A visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 1860 S. Mulford Rd, Rockford, IL 61108. Followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 14, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Byron.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to: Byron Bank, PO Box 901, Byron, IL 61010 all gifts will go towards a permanent memorial installation.
