John Patrick Larkin, 62, of Rockford passed away on Monday, April 16, 2007. John was born on September 16, 1944 to Ralph and Lucille (Holland) Larkin. On July 15, 1967 he married Mary Louise Bires, his wife of close to 40 years. John enjoyed and took much pride in his job as a machine assembly worker. He was employed by Greenlee, W.A. Whitney and finished at Ingersoll. John proudly served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany during the war in Vietnam. John held a great regard for his family, faith and attention to a job well done. In addition to his strong work ethic he approached each task and challenge with a positive spirit. He was often recognized by his bright smile. Survivors include his wife Mary Louise Larkin, his daughters Anne Marie Gibbs and Colleen Michelle Hunt. Grandchildren Matthew, Christopher, Cedric and Lauren. Nieces Tammy, Vicki, Katie and Lisa Marie and Nephew Joe. Faithful Friend and Companion Larken. Predeceased by his parents and his Son-In-Law SFC James H. Hunt II. Special thanks to the staff of Madison, Wis. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at 10:00 a.m.nbsp;at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with the Rev. Brian A. Geary officiating. Interment will be in Willwood Burial Park. Visitation will be Friday, April 20, 2007 from 6-9 P.M.nbsp;in Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road. Memorials would be appreciated to the family.
