John “Lou” Guglielmetti, Jr., 73, of Rockford, passed away on Sunday February 28, 2016 in SwedishAmerican Medical Center in Belvidere. He was born June 15, 1942 in Centerville, IA; the son of John and Merle Guglielmetti. Married Judy Stepp on August 5, 1961 in St. Edward Church. He worked as a Journeyman Plasterer for 45 years, working predominately for Johnson Plastering Ltd... Member of St. Edward Church, Lombardi Club and the Verdi Club. Lou was an avid fisherman and golfer, He loved growing tomatoes but his true love was for the Chicago Cubs.
Survivors include his wife, Judy; three sons, Duane (Gloria), David (Cindy) of Cherry Valley and Anthony (Patricia) of Byron; grandchildren, Nicholas, Gage, Amber and Rachel; great-grandchildren, Nicolette and Carmella; brother, James (Karen);mother-in-law, Louise Stepp of Loves Park; sister-in-law, Karen (Mark) Bjork of Loves Park; Brothers-in-law, Jim Stepp of Morrison, IL and Bob Feary. numerous nieces and nephews; adopted grandson, Teague Dickey. Predeceased by his parents; sister, Sondra Boase and brother-in-law, Ronald Boase.
Funeral Service will be held at 12:00p.m. on Friday March 4, 2016 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road. Visitation from 10:30am until service time Friday in the funeral home.
